    But, for anyone curious about the bantam x standard... I recently hatched an olive egger who is very obviously half silkie. The result: She looks like a slightly smaller Ameraucana with fibro/black skin, 5 toes, and the cutest little olive egg.

    Well I ended up selling the little bastard because he decided that I was his enemy and there was no convincing him otherwise. He would chase me around the yard! Sigh.     Thank you, I think I understand now! So basically crossing my MF with any other lf will just default to the color of the hen while carrying the mottle trait.
