Congratulations to those who chose female - Lavender is, in fact, a pullet, and I couldn’t be more thrilled that I chose wisely! Her single comb isn’t going to win her any prizes, but I think she’s beautiful, and she makes a lovely addition to my little backyard flock.

I’ll give the poll a few days if there’s interest, then I’ll let everyone know whether this chick is taking a hike!

In the interest of full disclosure, I had this chick DNA sexed and just got the results today. It is from a batch of 6 pasty-butt, 3 day old silkies I picked up on “clearance” at TSC because I couldn’t bear to leave them there. I found homes for all but this one, and crossed my fingers that I...
