Update: the cockerel is now fully feathered
And we ended up having some accidental chicks hatching at the moment, most likely fathered by him. One already hatched who I’m 100% sure is his. (Note the lavender/mauve spots)
Another update: we lost the younger chick from an eagle, but the two oldest are doing great. One is a cockerel who is now breeding and crowing, and the other a very friendly pullet. The cockerel has gotten a lot of brown-ish leakage while the pullet got none.
That certainty would make a lot of sense... I have one picture of him when he was really young (7-8 weeks) where he looked like he had a lavender/blue/grey backround.

I can see where everybody is thinking Mauve here as the photos seem like they’re nearly a chocolate/gray kind of color. I’ll try to get better pictures that shows that they don’t look nearly cream from the naked eye.
