To tell you for sure I would have to get up close and personal with the birds but to my eyes the male doesn't look like a NHR. They do appear to be hatchery birds.
From the pictures to me they appear to be Production Reds. The Production Red chicken is very similar to a New Hampshire Red or Rhode Island (Production) Red chicken only lighter in color than a RIR. They are bred mainly to be very productive layers, but are heavy enough to be good meat birds, too.
Could be New Hampshire Red or Rhode Island (Production) Reds.

Some of these birds are pure heritage Rhode Island Reds on this site. I know some of the breeders mentioned, which are darker in color than the standard Rhode Island (Production)...
