    also, it can take as long as 4-6 weeks for the toxins from the old food to get out of the dog's system. You can get an allergy test done, might be cheaper in the long run. I prefer to go LID rather than the prescription diets because 1 they are cheaper and 2 better quality.

    when doing your own diet, you either need to supplement like crazy or you will need to go raw and have a wide variety of protein sources. Or you can look into LID food (limited ingredient diets). Another option, though more expensive, is a commerically prepared raw diet.
