Well since the ladies have gone on their new diet, they have doubled their weight in just under two weeks. Their appetites have increase right along with their size.
The roo is slim, walking and scratching, and jumping and flapping with no trouble, and hes also maturing quickly despite being on...
thanks for the research. Out of curiousity do they use manitol in icey hot? i know thats the powdery substance they use on gum and some other types of candy. It can also be used to treat kidney infections i think. Its got a menthol like property to it. Its also a bit of a laxitive.
well, it was applied externally, and also I've been using it on my ankle on and off for a month. Its a mild form of icey hot.
I'll look into it but I doubt it will do any harm. At any rate, he's too small to slaughter and would have eventually died or fallen prey to fire ants or something if he...
Interesting update!!
the lil roo which i thought for sure was cripled and sure to die has made a partial recovery.
For about a week he'd been propelling himself around the yard by flapping his wings as his legs were of no use. Well with crash dieting, daily massages and the use of an analgesic...
cool.
yesterday i met an old man that can teach me how to rip out the guts and stuff. it aint gonna be easy since i intended them for breeding stock i kinda got attatched to them. But i think in the larger scheme of things it would be worse to allow them to die and go to waste. now i know to...
they are already older than 8 weeks! but still seem too small to eat. they dont weigh more than 2 or 3 pounds each. since my birds free range i just scatter the feed on the ground, They never really fight for food, plus my "layers" are monsterous turkens that dont take no guff from no one.
They had feathers when I brought them home everywhere except their heads. They've grown about 75% in size, grown head feathers, and my roos head and crest started turning red almost 2 weeks ago. Is there any way to estimate their age? I don't mind killing them to eat if they are just gonna die...
Alright, Some where along the line my chicks went from being cute lil balls of feathers to being morbidly obese. All they do all day long is eat. They eat the morning ration with the other birds, then long after the other birds have gone off to dust bathe and scratch in the leaves, they are...
