I have very intelligent wild birds up here in the north country....Dux could learn a thing or two from them.
A couple weeks ago we were watching TV in the evening and a male Red breasted Grosbeak flew to the window on the north side of our living room and started pecking at the window and...
Summer must be here.
My first Rose breasted Grosbeak of the year showed this morning.
They are one of the prettiest birds we have.
I had to steal a photo has it is too dark to get a picture today. ..or my eyes are too bad today to see well enough to get the picture.
I use to think, we had boring birds here in Minnesota. We do not. When I started feeding them, (the old persons hobby as my kids call it) I discovered a world of beautiful brilliant colors. Even if I only see them for a few days a year they are worth seeing. Now that I have done years of serious...
Birds are coming in in huge numbers in this storm.
I think I saw a Cassin's finch in amongst our house finches.
The crest is easy to see and the belly is white compared to the stripes on the house finches. Cassin's are not in this area.
Bird pictures from today:
It has been a while since we posted on this thread, however, in the middle of this snow storm I have had nothing to do but sit at the window and drink tea.
This guy and his mate showed up. I tried to get her picture but she was camera shy. She is stunning this time of the year.
That stupid turkey is one of mine. She has figured instead of cleaning up the waste seeds under the feeders, this one figured out, one little jump and she gets fresh seeds..
And it drives my wife bonkers when she is up there eating, so that is a bonus!
We would love to have you join us!!
This is a Minnesota Winter Hummingbird: Notice the innocent smile, the sweet song it sings and the beating wings..
I just love this.... I am freezing from snow plowing and seeing the stupid turkey jump into that feeder makes my day..
