    I haven't run into the problem of the layers slowing way down. However we treat our Orloffs the same as we treat our slow maturing oriental gamefowl. They freerange as soon as they are feathered in until late fall, catching most of their own food. We still throw a 16% protein feed mix to them...

    They are very pretty As far as I know only the spangled variety is available in the US although I'd love to find out someone has been hiding the mahagony and black lines. The roosters don't reach their full size until almost 2 yrs old but are 8-9lbs on average. The hens are noticably smaller...
