A great big thanks to everyone on behalf of Winger, who's looking like a new man and keeping cozy this winter in his spiffy new feathers!

This is not an entry, just an update on Winger's molt. Just the wing tips are left to go. It seems like my little drake disappeared overnight and was replaced by this massive bird with salt and pepper hair. I almost don't recognize him - same sweet temperament, though.

I would think it is technically a molt, though? Molting is the process of shedding old feathers to make way for new feathers, and what Nero70002 is describing is a juvenile molt.

My entry. It's hilarious watching a muscovy wagging a tail that's no longer there. Poor Winger's definitely seen better days!
