Yup I have had lots of floating ones and they work great. They have cages around them to prevent burns as well though I think I'd do my own cage as an extra precaution for waterfowl. Someone mentioned a tire in the water as being a green way to keep the water warm.

Still no roof and no vent covering yet but EVENTUALLY it has to get done right??? I'm just concentrating on getting the pond up and running first.
