I had herons quite often on my pond...Not sure they had a red head though because they were super skittish and flew off at the slightest noise. Those don't seem skittish. They are amazing to watch!

Yes the Tend has to have an outlet, but it works great, and it has a very, very long cord. I know the Arlo's run off batteries though and they are very similar to the Tend camera. The Arlo Pro has a solar battery as an optional accessory.

What trail camera is that cmom? I have never had a trail cam at night that clear and I have 3 or 4. And wow I've never seen a pack of coyotes...that would make me a bit nervous and was the time correct 2:20 am. Scary to know they are outside your house.
