Well I decided against keeping any CX pullets. Decided I just don't have the room. I sure am going to miss these birds... These pullets are batty but most of the cockerels walk up to me and let me pet them... They sure make camp day hard...

I really withheld the feed... This one was the biggest too... I am giving the rest at least two more weeks as long as their legs last... After state I will butcher I think...

I butchered my first CX of the year today. He hurt his leg jumping off a bale of hay so I figured I might as well butcher him.. He dressed out at 5.4 pounds and there isn't an ounce of fat on the thing... He was 12-13 weeks old... I am happy with how slow these guys grew. There wasn't any feed...

So with the batch of CD I have rn I have noticed that even thought they have full feed and are in a synthetic still choose to go pick in the back part and eat grass. I restricted feed for 3 weeks from day one and they don't hardly eat at all. When they go out in the morning and in the evening...

Thanks JR. I am pretty happy with this batch. If we like how they turn out we will do a bigger batch next year. Thanks Dave The colored rooster is an EE from Ralphie. I really like that roo. He will be sticking around and doing some breeding next spring. I love the blue/Partridge colored birds.

I think my CX look good this year... They are 8-9 weeks old and probably 4-5 pounds maybe. I think 5lbs might be a stretch

So out of the 15 CX I bought Only 4 are pullets... I banded three of them... The fourth is too fine boned for my taste... Her legs aren't as thick as everyone else's and she just does not have the depth and width of back I would want on a meat bird... So I think I will keep the other three...

Dave you plan on butchering the dwarf I assume? They sure are pretty birds. Looks like they are pretty stout birds!
