    That might be why nothing was caught in the trap. With a double sided live trap, it's best to attach the bait to the plate so they trigger it while trying to take it or while eating it in the trap. Any animal could have just taken that from the non-trip plate side and been gone in a flash...

    It looks like the bait can be accessed from either side but only one side has the trip plate. Is the correct? Interesting how the chickens seem to be awake and watching the owl in those pictures.

    I see. Obviously you don't need to me to say that it's hard to pinpoint, but a little protection goes a long way in that if your birds are protected from one predator, they are usually protected from many predators... Good luck with the identification. :thumbsup

    The problem I see is that there are no solid sides on your pen. Our pasture pens have at least two intersecting solid sides so they always have a corner to go to that is relatively safe compared to being right up against the chicken wire. I'm not sure how you would add solid sides to your pen...
