@The Angry Hen @jolly wattles Just a brief update in case you're curious... she is still being a jerk. LOL. I have tried so many things. This is her second day being in the cage of shame.. I am hoping my other hens will put her in her place. Perhaps that's wishful thinking!
hahah! If only I had wooded area behind my home. We live in a residential area with huge yards... the best I could do is throw her to my neighbors. I think they would know who she belongs to!
Let's all have our fingers crossed that she stops the hissy fit tomorrow. I may keep them all in the run today... just to avoid another disaster when trying to pin her up. Maybe nighttime will "reboot" her and set her back straight!
The one time I was able to get my hands on her, I did. Trying to show her who the top chicken is (lol, me). She decided for the first time ever she would involve her legs and try to scratch me while she decided to throw a vocal fit as well. Quite a show for the neighbors, I'm sure.
Must be really prissy... I tried three of her favorites throughout the fit she was throwing. She just puffed herself bigger and bigger. I am hoping she will return to her normal self after a nap on the roost.
Lol! I can't stand it... If only she understood everything I tell her - "Hey chicken, I love you.. and I don't want you to be dog food. Could you cooperate please?"
I hope that's the case! I love this girl, but my 5 and 3 year old help with chicken duties so I sure hope she straightens up or they wont be able to!
Thankfully, I was able to get her back in the run... it had to be completely by her own decision. I just waited at the gate until I was able to...
I got her when she was only 6 weeks old. She is just days over a year old now. We have always had such a sweet girl in her! So frustrating. Not sure what's happening. She always LOVES to get her back rubbed and follow us around. Today she wants nothing to do with me and gets aggressive when I...
No I didn't. I had gathered eggs earlier and it was inside the home. I called all my other girls in and they all happily trotted after me. I noticed one was missing and I found her dust bathing next to our crawl space. That's when the attitude started. Didn't touch her or anything. Just...
Hello! I have a chicken that is usually docile. She laid her egg this morning so I don't believe that is weighing into this.
Usual behavior when I step outside is she runs to get a pat on the back and snacks.
Today, out of the blue She is puffing herself up real big, making ugly sounds at me...
