I used to breed rabbits, but I don’t know the answer to your question.
On a sidenote, the 24th will be the anniversary of the last picture I took of my rabbit Sophie when she was alive.
Sophie, 2014-2023.
Rest in peace.
I would contact the Animals in Distress Association and tell them what happened. They are specially trained to raise these types of animals and re-release them into the wild.
That’s best, in my opinion.
Got so cold with a -35 wind chill, so I had to bring Sophie inside. I let her out of the cage to exercise every day. She chose a new spot to chill under the pool table.
I need to shovel her run tomorrow.
No storms. As for her tummy, I will check if I can get close enough to her. It all depends on the day whether she wants to be pet or not.
If you think she’s pregnant, that’s an automatic no. I have not bred her ever.
Hi everyone!
Perhaps one of you here can help me. I seem to have a small issue with Sophie, my rabbit.
Some details, she is a Netherland dwarf / Californian mix. She is about eight years old. Not spayed.
I was getting ready to go elk hunting today, I woke up at 6:00 and went out. While I was...
I tried to have Sophie get along with some other rabbits, and it always ended in big fights, caused by Sophie. She’s an independent rabbit.
I’ve had other rabbits, who got along just fine.
It really depends on the rabbits personality.
You’re right! It’s so cute!
For those who do not know, this is a western toad. I found it by Sophie‘s water bowl while I was giving her water. I’ve only seen them get this big once before.
I got a question, and it’s a long shot. Is it possible to litter train an 8 year old rabbit? I get the feeling Sophie needs more interaction, so I am thinking about bringing her inside sometime.

My Sophie is eight years old, and she is not spayed. I guess she’s lucky. I didn’t know spaying prevents fatal health issues.
Lesson learned.
I took this picture on one of our hot days about a month ago. I think the heat was getting to her that day.
It’s cooled down now, and she is doing great!
That rabbit looks just like Sophie!
That looks like a good idea if I ever get an indoor rabbit. Maybe after Sophie passes on.
Speaking of Sophie, I had to bring her inside. Heat was getting to her, she was laying on her side panting.
She is OK now. I assume it was the heat and her age...
