Yup you can't blame her for being who she is. Like keeping a roo and getting mad when he is constantly chasing the girls. It's what a roo does. My Micro roo is doing well with my crippled Brahma Girl Momba they have figured out how to use the roost frame together for warmth. and seem to be...

Adds to the argument about them being 'dumb animals' if that is what happens and also adds to the vocabulary they must have.

    Precious..the blind Barred Rock hen

I never had to think about all that with my MicroRoo. I can see where this could be a real issue for her. My vote is she will lay where she stands when the urge hits her. Not sure she will be able to make all the associations with the nest boxes and one time of being run out will be enough. And...

my biggest concern with the nipple waterer would be head bumps on the nipple while trying to line up would put water on her head where she could be frost bitten. Love ehr moving up in the pecking order. is the RIR she "bested" The one by the raamp waiting to eat?

Sounds more like she is just being Cheif Hen and keeping peace in her flock My lead roo does the same thing with fighting hens or roos he considers His Flockmates rather than competitors. So hopefully she will continue to keep peace in her flock

Awesome apparently what she wasn't given in eyesight she got in mad problem solving skills. I would not have thought she would manage so easily. So glad she did.

She may need gentle help and coaching the first few times. They are capable of learning but not so good at figuring stuff out on their own she won't be able to see the others use if they even do. Hope she gets it she will be miserable all alone all night.

Just wanted to say some if the folks around here that are smarter than me have said to be careful treating coccidiosis too soon after another illness as the treatement is hard on them might hurt a bird already weakened. O hope Junie is fine though. Precious is precious. Thats a nice looking...

she sounds as if she is doing much better than Micro Roo. Part of that was my fault not realizing what was going on sooner. You are doing great by Precious, hopefully she will be far better adjusted than my Roo.

    Precious..the blind Barred Rock hen

Glad to hear another story of giving a struggling creature a chance. I have a blind Roo (Micro Roo) Once they started in on the pecking order thing and chasing him to pick on him he became very agoraphobic He has a 2.5 by 8 brooder to himself now He did have a room mate for a while but she...
