    coop design questions

I don't care about decorative looking but it is a GREAT idea! we are always looking for somewhere clean to sit. As of now I still have a few spots but sure that won't last long as they get bigger so I love this idea!

I have their brooder ones that I made in their coop right now since they don't roost on the reg roosts yet, But they don't use those in there until it is morning before I let them out. LOL They still huddle in a corner to sleep. Figure I will give them another week or two to adjust and...

Any ideas on how I can set up some roosts in the run? I was thinking of putting them on the diagonal in a corner but wasn't sure if that would be too close to an edge? Also would I put them up high now or lower where they are still little then raise them? Anything else I should do to...

    coop design questions

Thank you. the work mainly that needs to be done is outside the run (it will be the shingles on the roof) and in the coop (doing the trim) so we can shut the door when we are working in the coop so they don't get under foot and get hurt. My husband is not always the best at watching where...

While the run isn't completely predator proof yet it is enough that they can go out during the day with us there. So the chicks got to play in the run, then in the coop, for a bit today. They were so cute and funny watching them

    coop design questions

ya I have an old pair of wire cutters or whatever they are called that my husband used for sheet metal for work. I use some other tool he gave me for smaller bends. Most times I just leave the pointy parts as my apron figuring if something goes to dig it will stab them if they go to that...

    coop design questions

my husband does HVAC and left me an older pair of his that he uses for sheet metal. So they are decent ones, but do have a chip in the blade of course the exact size of the wire so sometimes I have to play with them to get them to go to a different spot on the blade. LOL

I think my husband has one. He mentioned that he should leave it for me. Think it is more the wire cutters that was the worst.
