Need help once again. Lean to style coop and run

Got the HWC up for the run section. We still have 2 rafters to install but since we are leaving the existing door we need to cut it down so it can swing open fully so haven't installed those yet since the doop hits them. Hopefully weather cooperates and we can get they plywood up for the coop...

Need help once again. Lean to style coop and run

We didn't have our chainsaw since someone borrowed it. So work on it then got the chainsaw and took it down. So it is down in the last 2 pics. The rafters weren't tied down yet so we just moved them out of the way. We just did the birdsmouth on them so wanted to be sure they worked. Lol Not...

Need help once again. Lean to style coop and run

Started building the new coop and run. It is attached to my existing run. I am leaving the HWC and door between them. Most times the door will be open so they have use of it all but I like the option of being able to make them 2 separate spaces if needed. Here is the progress so far.

Need help once again. Lean to style coop and run

what I was going to do for the coop is the same design as the run with the 7' wall down to 5' over the 6' width. Then I was going to go up 5' around the whole coop with plywood. (I will try to draw it up. So then the other spots from the 5' and above on the 3 walls would be HWC for...

Need help once again. Lean to style coop and run

Thank you. I would have a 2'x 6' on one end then it would go down in a triangle on both sides. So lots of ventilation

Need help once again. Lean to style coop and run

ok now getting nervous on what is required and other parts needed etc. I am trying to build it as easy and cost effective as possible. Was thinking metal roof would be easier and cheaper but now I am not so sure. I am thinking of going with a plywood roof. The plywood itself is...

Need help once again. Lean to style coop and run

Here are some pics of my existing set up when we were completing the build. And my horrible drawing of new build. The tree/large stump needs to be trimmed down and will be inside the run with coop on that end. The roofline for new one is going to tuck under existing one so hopefully water...

Need help once again. Lean to style coop and run

I will post some pics of my existing coop. And post my horrible sketch for what I plan to do. It is more just a box drawing since I am not good at sketching up anything especially with a lean to style. :)

Need help once again. Lean to style coop and run

anyone on the metal roof for the coop part of it? is it going to sweat and drip down on the chickens? @aart @Ridgerunner and technically I would need 3 "side" walls right? since it will be the run and coop under one roof. So would need 1 for each side of coop then end one for the...

Need help once again. Lean to style coop and run

Sorry Just thought of another question. Should I do metal roofing panels over the coop part too or is that going to collect condensation and "rain" on the chickens when in at night? Would it be better to do plywood and shingles for that part? @DobieLover @3KillerBs

Need help once again. Lean to style coop and run

Ok thank you. Thought when looking it up I saw some use 2x4's etc. So wanted to be sure I got the right thing. How far is spacing for the purlins? I am doing 24" on the rafters. And what size is best for rafters?

Need help once again. Lean to style coop and run

Thank you. I will put the human door probably right across from where the door between the 2 runs will be so a straight shot from my house to run. Then go in the run to the human door to the coop. My first coop I have the chicken door and human door next to each other both inside the...

Need help once again. Lean to style coop and run

We would cut and make a door. My feed and water is in the run so no worries there. Think if I put nest boxes on the 5' wall then I should be able to walk up to those. I may make them outside of the coop like the ones on my other coop. But even if I need to bend over for a bit of that side...

Need help once again. Lean to style coop and run

so I want to expand my run (basically just attaching a lean to style run onto my existing run to make it wider. I am going to leave the HWC and door between the 2 so I can close off the new section if need be for any reason). would love any advice. and yes I have a drawing but it is just a...
