@luvmychickenz Really wish I had another one the same age so I cold compare side by sode. It looks a little darker in pics than real life. My brother has some the same age and he sent me pics. Still so hard to see. However, I looked back at pics from our first barred rock and at 13/14 weeks she...
Please tell me i didnt get another cockerel out of the pullet bin. I see curving tail feathers and this one is lighter than my little bantam barred rock. Opinions? 12 weeks old
Barred rocks are just awesome! My brother's roo killed a crow the other day when he thought it was too close to the babies. Brother said the crow landed about 10 feet away from momma and chicks. Roo was about 20 feet away and the next thing he knew Rubble was in the crow's back and it was dead...
@RosecoopI'm there with you. It's the biggest waste of money I've spent in a long time. My brother came and built me a new one but I filled it right away and am still having to use the other one. I do have big plans though for a bigger coop and run. Just have to get the funds!
She is SO loud too. I can't believe the noise she makes when she cheeps. I also have an EE silkie cross who has the most awful sounding cheep. It's more like a rough squawk.
OJ is 2 weeks older than the babies but is smaller than any of them. She is also boss as far as the babies are concerned and puts the EE mixes in their place even though they tower over her.
I was antsy about her 2 weeks ago when the comb started growing in. It was pinkish but as it's straightened out a bit the color is gone. *crossing fingers*

My little bantam barred rock I tend to call him/her Little Bit because it's so tiny. S/he isn't much bigger than my 3 wk old Japanese bantam silkie crosses.
