Bernice has indeed turned into quite the mother. So fun to watch.

I only got my first flock last March. I knew I wanted to try and hatch but I wasn't getting any broody action. I had to rehome my Roo and knew I wanted chicks so I used my father in laws incubator while I still had fertile eggs. Half way through incubation Bernice went broody!!

Lots of firsts for me. Incubated eggs for the first time, they hatched yesterday. I have my first broody, Bernice, from my first flock(last year). And I slipped a few chicks under her today and removed the eggs. Excited!!

I have my first broody, Bernice!! I also have my first hatch in the incubator. Will Bernice make a good Mom? I hear all about Buff Orpingtons but not much on Barred Rock Moms.
