I did the same dividing up the yard using several dog X-pens! I will be planting clover "salad bars" for them in their part. They have small pine trees and a lot of wild berry and wild rose bushes as cover...in the winter I let them have the whole yard as nothing is growing and it is snow covered.

I have really rocky soil, that was part of the problem...glacial till. Since the charger is heavy-duty for a small run of the wiring, grounding like this will work.
