We have a converted shed that is insulated and there is a 250 watt heat bulb set on a timer on the ceiling. Our Colorado winters can be cold so we have sand on the concrete in the house with a little straw to make it warmer. The water is elevated with a thermostatic heat bin placed below it...- mollidog
