    That is what I did. I waited till they got up on the roost at night and then turned the light out. Mine are between 10 and 12 weeks old and it has seemed to work out fine. I never turn the light on any more, they know where to roost now.

    If you leave any type of light on at night they will eat all night and not get the sleep they need. Let them get used to going in at night then turn the light out.

    JSC, I have just went through that with my chicks. Look for the thread Cold babies. I thought mine would go back in last night, at 11:00 PM they were piled up cold and hungry out in the run. Good Luck with your chicks.

    We went though the same thing late yesterday afternoon. It was getting cool here and we had to catch them and put them back in the coop where it was warm. Now it will be this weekend before we can do it again as we work 2nd shift. I hope this will give them time to get used to the coop being...
