Any update on how the hatch went?

Good luck with your bobwhite hatch! I hope you have a better ratio than I did too. We had to give away five of the males to a feed store, who put them in with 2 silkies! Compared to quail, silkies are huge!

Out of the 8 I hatched, 2 were hens!

Lucky! I don't have nearly as many quail, but when I open the door to add in more food, they panic!

Definitely handle them, and maybe try to treat-train them? Mine have grown to be very flighty!

Good luck with your hatch! A hatched 8 out of 8 coturnix eggs a few months ago. I would recommend trying to treat-train them early on, as I did not and my coturnix have grown to be very nervous animals.
