Actually, my quail have stopped laying for winter and are not that interested in worms any more. They go wild for bird seed that I scatter but ignore the worms crawling beneath their feet. Too bad. They do actually eat slugs as long as they are small and caterpillars too.

My quail eat redworms, from my worm bin. I had to teach them though by using little ones. Some of them can't do it yet but others are getting quite good at eating even the big ones in one go. And they ate a live earwig and dead flies too.
