These are my babies. The two little ones spent the night under mom, but were left behind when mom left the coop this morning. They are a still a bit wobbly. So its back to the mohair scarf and the lamp for another day. So its seven babies altogether!

I agree. Since my eldest daughter started going through puberty she gets so worn out easily. We only do one extra mural activity at a time now. To all the over competitve moms out there ...I dont care my daughter has nothing to prove. She is happy and now has a balanced life...even kids need...

Over the past two years keeping chickens we have had many babies. We don't incubate our eggs. I put them under clucky my good ol faithful broody silkie hen. She will brood anything. Watching the little ones interact, ive noticed something. There is always one chick that is the cheekiest, the...

Someone told me other other day once a dog tastes egg, you've had it they wont stop. So this is a plan... when my hubby...

She normally eats them too! I just busted her at the right moment! My husband calls her his chicken contraceptive device. But seriously it is a problem I have to take eggs and then give them back when hen turns broody. Every now and then a smart hen (usually) a silkie outfoxes the dog and finds...

It happened before..... I caught the dog with an egg...shouted at the dog and then put the egg back......when the egg hatched i wondered if the egg might have come from somewhere else. A white mommy with a pitch black chick certainly raises a few questions. Well the next clutch have arrived...
