    You aren't that cold in the winters there, right? Our winters aren't that cold (maybe 15-18F at lowest) however I have circulation issues in my extremities so I have to overcompensate any time it drops below 60 or so.

    I find rainboot style boots more wearable for summer since they don't have the same weight or amount of weather protection in them. My heavy, insulated muck boots are really mainly for winter.

    If the coop is getting muddy you're better off finding the source of the issue and fixing it. Putting in lime or another additive is just a bandaid, and doesn't address the core problem (leaks, drainage issue, coop location, etc.)
