    Her cagemates kept laying eggs with her, so they all hatched 2 days apart, over 2 weeks' time. But she sure was trying! And the male did set the eggs as well, it was very cute. Often they'd both be on the nest, which is probably why they hatched so well

    Buttons very often sit their eggs, they just don't sit the full time sometimes. They are the most broody of the 'domestic' quail, so you are in luck! I had one this past summer that went broody. After about 16 or 18 days I gave up on her, took the eggs, and put them in the incubator. 2 days...
