One of my Ceylon males. They are not called roosters, that denotes a chicken male. They are pretty mellow, until breeding season....then the male becomes quite aggressive and territorial.
I have Red, Green, Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and Grey. Don't ever expect to buy real Jungle Fowl hatching eggs. Beware of the "fake" jungle fowl, such as what Cackle Hatchery sells or the ones from Hawaii. Even the San Diego Zoo allowed their pure Reds to interbreed with domestics.

No it doesn't no pretty unreliable. It's states as fact that chickens come from reds and greys when it's not been proven but it shows the family and while there " may likely be ancestral connections ". Jungle Fowl are Not chickens

I have Green, Grey, Sri Lanka (Ceylon) and Red ( Richardson strain ) and I can guarantee you, when in season for breeding, they change in temperament. The Sri Lanka are the most dramatic in change from season to season. And they will kill domestics...
JF are Not chickens even though chickens may have evolved from them. JF can be very aggressive and during season (they don't breed just any time like chickens) they may kill chickens.
I have spent the entire summer getting my JF in peak health for next years breeding season. They were not in the best condition when I got them, they had been breeding. They are all mature birds except for a few younger males. They spent a fair amount of time this summer in Quarantine here...

They don't appear to be pure Red Jungle Fowl. Do you have any documentation from the breeder? Do they "Eclipse" (loose their color and become a dull, nearly black color and the roosters comb will shrink down.
