That is the very best sexing method, the "Wait and See Method", LOL.

The dark on the legs, by itself, is not a perfect indicator of sex. Some males have a bit, some females have almost none. Mainly, the hatchery stock is what has the really dark leg fronts on the females. You must take all three traits together to try to determine sex-leg color, headspot and down...

I "make" my own Easter Egger by breeding my BR rooster with my Ameraucana and Easter Egger hens. They come out blue barred or black barred and lay green eggs.

The first EE you posted has a cockerel-like comb, very wide. Not sure about the others. I've raised true Ameraucanas as well as a couple of EEs and usually a wide comb with all three rows of "peas" showing is male and a girl has a narrow single ridge showing till she is close to laying age.

The BRs are easy to sex. You just got someone who either has the pullet and cockerel traits reversed in his head, or more likely, was unloading extra boys on an unsuspecting person. We've seen that quite often here on BYC.

Sorry, Heather, you have Barred Rock roosters and Easter Eggers. No BR pullets I can see in those pics. If those were 8 weeks old like you mentioned to me when you got them, the man knew he was selling you all BR cockerels.
