    Over the past 40 some years I have had hundreds of chicks mailed to me. I happen to live in an area that is mostly warm year-round. But the states where I have ordered from are cold early in the year. So, I wait until at least April to receive chicks. I've never had the disaster so many people...

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Monday to Wednesday only about 48-60 hours? Day old chicks won't 'starve' in that length of time. That's actually about average for mail delivery of chicks. I think it's more likely to have been a rough and/or very cold trip that caused that outcome.
