Roo or hen???

22 week old hen but my hen is looking awful "manly"! No crowing that I've heard. Haven't noticed any mating. By 22 weeks if this was a roo wouldn't it be crowing?
 
This is my first flock of birds. i have 6 rhode island red hens, 1 roo i guess and 1 leghorn hen. Do you think he'll mess up my hens laying? will they lay better without an rooster?
 
The rooster will not mess up the hens laying. All the rooster will do is fertilize the eggs so that they can be hatched. I would not get rid of the rooster unless he gets aggressive with you or any other people numerous times. Rhode Island Red roosters tend to be aggressive some times, so just be careful. And have fun with your chickens! They are awesome animals!
 
I'll keep him or she whatever it turns out to be! Lol! I hear RIR rarely go broody but maybe one day one will and I'll have fertilized eggs already!
