Hi there again! I bought a bunch of Bantam Easter Eggers, but said I would accept substitutes with other blue/green laying egg -breeds (standard and bantams), and this one is looking different than my other easter eggers.

So, is this one easter egger or blue ameraucana? Or something else? I'm afraid he might be a cockerel, since he has lot of pointy feathers. Opinions of his/her gender?

Since I've been having such a bad luck with sexing lately, how about my silkie? Does he look like a roo to you guys too?

(as a baby chick, with my silver laced polish, who also turned out to be a cockerel)

Thank you so much for the help. :)

Looks female, not sure on the breed, definitely not a blue Ameraucana though.

eTA, sorry my mistake, I was thinking of a lavender ameraucana, not a blue one, yes she does look like a blue ameraucana :)

Oh, I'm so happy if she looks female! She is so much bigger than my easter eggers, I was pretty sure she's a boy.

Here's couple of more pics of her. She might be a mongrel, but a pretty one, I think. :)

She has the characteristics of a Blue Ameraucana like a beard, muffs, slate colored legs that have no greenish tint, pea comb, and she has correct blue coloring. What makes you think she isn't?

Yes, for my novice eyes she looks very much like blue Ameraucana, but I know nothing about that breed. Here's couple pics of her outside.

:)

And about my silkie, yes, he is probably too young to be sure, but, since he has growing mulberry wattles, more comb than any other my previous silkies and rough hackle feathers and baby spurs sticking trough his legs, and my other (same age) silkie is SO feminine next to him, she looks like she's hunching, when this blue one is more upright and has longer legs, I'm trying to be open to that possibility that he is he, and I have to re-home him. Or something... bo-hoo!

From what I can see in the first picture is yellowish foot bottoms. That means Easter Egger.

I agree if the picture isn't throwing us off.

I had to ran out and take that poor sleeping thing out of the coop for foot picture. :D Obsess much?

Her legs are pretty dark grey, almost black, yet bottoms are lighter. Not exactly yellow or green though, I would say grayish beige...? :D Most of her toenails are black, but "middle fingers" nude.

You can never obsess to much LOL I'm on the borderline between Easter Egger or pure Amerauana. I'm leaning towards her being a pure Ameraucana, but am not at all confident. I guess it doesn't really matter unless you plan on showing her :idunno
