Chinaberry tree poisonous?

I have a small Chinaberry tree that I was wanting to put beside the chicken pen that some of my future Cochins or Silkies will occupy. DH told me I shouldn't do that because the fruit is poisonous and will kill the chickens if they eat it. I thought the chickens would not eat something that could poison them.
The chicken pen will be 30x30 and be home to no more than 15 chickens at one time. We have Chinaberry trees in our front yard and our chickens haven't gone out that far yet.
Have any of you had chickens around your Chinaberry trees?
 
We used to have China Berry trees in our chicken yards. Chickens are pretty stupid, but I haven't seen one yet that would eat a China Berry.

About China Berry trees, my wife pointed out to me that only poor people have them. I started looking around, and she was right.

Chinaberry trees grow in a lot of ditches around here. We see them in very few yards, which made them look good to us. If I see one more person put in a Bradford Pear tree I will scream! It cost me $300 to have someone cut out all the Bradford pears that had taken over my pastures in only 2 years. They are about as bad as kudzu.

Chinaberry trees are gorgeous and make a wonderful shade canopy. The Bluebirds adore them and they don't fall apart during ice storms like the Bradford's. When the leaves fall they just easily blow away because they are small. They withstand major windstorms and extreme drought.

Oh yeah, I am very poor. But rich in love!

I live on the lake and we have several chinaberry trees by the water. My chicks love the leaves (have been eating them for 2 months) but I do not feed them the berries.
They are very healthy girls
 
We do have two full grown Chinaberry trees and we had a chicken yard next to the trees. the chickens had the free run of the whole yard and I never lost one to the chinaberry tree. although my little baby toy poodle 4month old ate some of the berrys and became very sick after throwing up 5 berries and a rush to the vets for treatment I think he is going to make it ok it has been almost 48 hours now and he seems fine and very playful. I am still keeping a close eye on him and no more snacking on Chinaberries.!!
 
hmmmm so if we cut our chinaberrie trees down our puppy wont eat them and get sick or die and we will be rich in the eyes of the comunity?? LOL sounds good to me.
