Is this coloring only present in polish? I really like the look of it, but I don't care for polish so much (sorry guys). How would you achieve it in a different breed? Buff Wyan. X GLW?

I would purchase Grant Breretons book on creating new colors. I think it might help. Now that I say this I need to purchase a copy for myself.

Actually, those Cornish are called White-laced Red, not buff.

To get started, you would have to cross a gold laced wyandotte to a white wyandotte that carried dominant white. If you can not find a dominant white wyandotte you could get dominant white from a red sex link.
or
Cross two blue laced red wyandottes and produce a splash laced red wyandotte. You will not get buff.

Does anybody know if dominant white is present in buff Wyandottes?
Just in case for the OP, the reason for wanting dominant white is because it changes black to white while leaving the browns/tans/reds/ mostly unaffected. Buff laceds are gold laced with dominant white added.. so if you do an outcross, it would work to repeat each generation by breeding a bird showing white to a pure GLW until good lacing is achieved.

Buff breeders that have a problem with black in the tail and wings will introduce dominant white to remove the black. You never know what will be found in a buff bird. Dominant white could be found in buff wyandottes or white wyandottes. Test crossing will determine if a bird has dominant white. Cross the white or buff with a black or barred wyandotte. If you get white chicks with black spots or white adult birds with black feathers or peppering - the birds carry dominant white for sure.

Thanks, was aware of DW being in some buff stocks for that reason. Right now I have a Buff Minorca and can see the tell tale white leaking in her tail, so she certainly has it.
Was wondering more if the OP could use Buff Wyandotte if it was documented DW were present.

My word, those buff laced wyandottes up top are about the most beautiful bird ever!
