Really mean chicken

I have almost the complete opposite with the types of birds. My Orpingtons are very aggressive and paralyzed my Easter Egger and my giant black Astralorp. Now I'm down to 2 Buff Orps and 1 Golden laced Wyandotte which they pull the feathers out of. They have not started laying yet but hopefully soon. I let them roam free a bit before sunset but one seems even more aggressive then.
I'm stumped, too.

Wow that's strange! Though i did have one fight back. She wouldn't start fights but she wouldn't put up with crap but they all have calmed down now for the most part

I have had quite the time with my chickens being mean and pecking each other to the point of all most killing each other. After much research on here and different situations I got a lot of good advice and I put it to the test today and I must say so far so good. I read they can get board and to make sure they have plenty of stuff to do in there run such as wood logs, a pecking block etc.

I also read that the bully should be put in " chicken solitary confinement" for a few days, I did that did not pay any attention to them 2 reds except to feed and water.

Also someone suggested to hold the chicken down that is being mean for up to 5 minutes when its mean and let it know whos boss and that being mean is not ok. I have done all of this today and I was able to put the 2 mean reds back in with the rest of flock. I have also added some cat food to there run to peck at and in there coop as it was suggested that there may be a lack of protein eating laying food pellets.

Good luck I have one hen still in the house with a huge sore from them pecking each other but I am hopeful that we have figured out the problems. They are very particular and can be very bossy who knew??

Today we had the most eggs so far. We had 7 eggs today we have never had that many before with our 11 hens so I would assume they are happy at the moment.

Hi I have an issue with one of my hens. I ended up with one hen and rooster this spring and hatched some eggs with her before selling the rooster. After nearly five months I've kept the mother hen and two of the pullets, a brown one and a spangled one. The issue is that in the last few weeks the mother hen has become increasingly aggressive toward the brown pullet. She is fine with the other one and stopped mothering them a while ago, but now she chases and bites the neck feathers of the brown one so bad that the brown one spends most of the day hiding in the coop. I would like to know if anyone has any idea why the mother hen is bullying one pullet so much? And is there anything I can do about it?
Thanks
