Broken Leg?

HELP!

Earlier today we picked up baby chicks at a small farm. We are completely new to this; no past experience what so ever. When we arrived home and set up the brooder for the chicks, we noticed one hobbling around oddly. We looked up what this could possibly be, and decided that it was possibly a broken leg.
Instructions told us to splint the leg, separate it from the rest, etc. But some others told us not to splint the leg, and to keep them close to the rest.

So here are our questions:

-Should we splint the leg?

-Should we add another chick with the injured one to keep company?

-How do we know if the leg is broken?

Here is some more info on the injured chick:

-When the chick sits down, she sits down at an angle.

-When she walks, she kind of has her leg sticking outward. (Not very far, just kind of crooked.)

-The chick limps on the leg, not particularly avoiding stepping on it. It kind of looks like how someone would walk with a sprained ankle.

It could be a sprain, spraddle leg, or other injury.
If you have room in the brooder you can make a barrier of wire to separate her, she will then be able to socialize a bit while she is healing. You can try putting a more docile chick in with her occasionally so she has a buddy to sleep with. Some people put in a small stuffed animal for the lone chick to cuddle with.
Without photos or video of what her legs look like and how she moves it's really hard to say what the best course of treatment would be, here is a couple of good resources that you might find helpful.

my chicken got deform legs he had them since he was born any ideas what to do

This is exactly what my chick is doing! I don't know is wrong with her leg.

My chick didn't look as bad as that. Mine was kind of picking her leg up and hobbling around. Anyways, we probably both have different problems.

When the chicken was a chick did they heal from it?

The same thing happened to mine. Her leg has a bulge where her foot meets her leg. I left her alone and didn't pick her up again after I saw the leg like that. She hobbled and laid down with it kicked out to the side. She ended up having to be separated because the other chicks were stepping on it. I put her in with two calm chicks after a few days because she wasn't limping as bad anymore and was running around better. I didn't do anything for the leg, I just kept her from getting stepped on and didn't handle her and it healed up fine. She is back to normal. I also added a little extra sawdust for her so she was comfy. Good luck I hope it heals up and she's ok.

I got one like that the other day, I will follow your thread to find out what others are saying. I think this happen to my chick when a family member placed the waterer in the brood and accidentally hurt the chick unknowingly.
