I have a turkey who has been fine the first 2.5 months but last week started waddling and then progressively her leg has started to bend sort of knock kneed and her foot turns out. She's having trouble walking now and it seems that her leg won't correct (straighten) itself. What is it? Can it be fixed???

She (I think it's a female) is a Bronze Turkey.

She (I think it's a female) is a Bronze Turkey.

She is likely developing a twisted tibia. It seems to be a result of birds gaining too much weight too quickly. The bones are not hardened completely yet and the excess weight causes the bone itself to become twisted. I have treated it successfully in peafowl, but they were 3-5 weeks old at the time it started. Your bird may be too old to correct it with taping. I will try to find you a link to a thread about it.

Could also be an issue with her Achilles' tendon slipping out of place? Not sure from your description, but there are some good diagrams if you google it. She might be too old for that issue though.

I wish you could post video to this site!
I'll bet it's either broken or twisted.

She's been on dirt and concrete with pine shavings. No wire.

Do you know if she fell? My guess is a tendon or ligament issue, but I think it would be difficult to fix at this point.

I would evaluate her range of movement in that leg, if she is easy to handle without fighting.

You can post a video. Use the filmstrip looking icon (on the computer version - I don't know if its there on the app version or if it will work if it is). Or upload it to youtube and post the link.
