I have an EPA funded project to develop a series of tracks / projects to be used for classroom instruction. Tracks are to combine concepts of agriculture and materials management (recycling in particular). Additionally we want the capacity for at least limited science. I am asking for ideas on how to set this up. If successful, then the tracks will be adopted by other schools.

Meal worms produced will be used to study insect biology and feed some chickens on a small scale. Area we have is 3' x 5' in a biology classroom. We can make so setup has tiers.

Please advise. Budget for this is about $2,400 which needed for some of science part.

Sounds awesome! I raised mealworms before, and it is VERY interesting, especially because the pupae will wiggle when you pick them up!! I also know that the beetles will eat pupae if you aren't careful.

I'm not an expert on class projects, but I hope others can help you.

Best of luck!
