well that's all I can say. I lost all but 4 of my birds last night- only have 3 blrw and one blk cochin bantam that survived. I'm devastated. I hope to kill him before he kills again. and yes the coop door was shut, he must have opened it as the survivors were outside this morning. I guess I can be thankful that I have 2 girls and 1 roo as well as 6 recently laid eggs. hard to believe that 4 yrs of work with this color is practically gone over night.

That is just awful, I hope you're able to figure out how he got to them and secure your coop so the rest stay safe until you can eliminate him. Weasles can be tough to stop.

A easy way to trap him is to take a shoe box cut a hole in the side put some form of meat/eggs might work as well and put a #1 longspring trap or a rat trap when he comes back you'll be sure to catch him.

I had set a trap for him, he avoided it when he came back 2 hours later and killed again- this time the bantam. now I have locked the coop door, and put the last chicken he killed in the trap. I heard the trap go off (it a havahart trap), no weasel. so next is the rat trap.

the weasel has been killed and incase he has friends, we set the trap again. 1 new egg laid this morning so fingers crossed, I'll have enough to repopulate my flock.
