What does it mean when a hen's comb is flopped over to one side?

I got a new hen today and her comb is flopped over to one side and a little pale. Does this have any indication on age? Can you tell a hen's age?

Thanks in advance for any help.
 
I don't know either, but my 2.5 year old Buff Orpingtons' comb has started to do that recently and she's pale. She was molting and now her feathers are growing back so maybe it has something to do with that? She doesn't seem sick...I'd love to know what others have to say. I was kind of worried but she seems fine.
 
one of my hens combs are like that and i looked it up and by what i read its normal for certian chickens. why this happens is that the comb gets so big and heavy it cant support itself up and simply flops over, no need to worry.
 
I have made an observation here on our farm lately, we have some BO's and BR's and when they get dehydrated (we have alot of males going to freezer camp soon, and they won't let some of the lower rank eat or drink without harrassing them) their red combs turn purple-ish and start flopping over. We are extra vigilant now to watch their combs and seperate out any that are beginning to show signs of it.
 
One of my BSL is 25wks old she is very healthy and her comb has always flopped over. Bless her heart-her tail feathers are bent, floppy comb and a voice that sounds like she has comb caught her in throat. We call her Goldilocks but really she should be called Ugly Chickling.
 
I am asking because I got a phoenix hen today, and her comb is little, but flopped over. Otherwise, she looks great. I will upload some pics soon.
 
It is perfectly normal for a phoniex, leghorn, dorking, and a few other breeds to have combs that flop over... its more common in the females since males have thicker combs.. but its perfectly normal

I have 3 different kinds of chickens.9 months old. Buff orpingtons, rhode island reds and black stars. Several of each have flop over combs. They didn't start flopping over right away as they grew them. The first one was an orpie. She had gotten her head stuck through the fence. So I thought it was due to injuring it. But as time went on more of them started doing the same thing. Then I thought it was happening from them spending time under the hen house.
One of the RR's is so extreme she looks like she has on a hat. Hence, she is Hattie. One of the orps is Floppsy. Another orp looks like she has ruffles down the front of her comb. So she is Miss Ruffles.

They are perfectly healthy. So I just assume it is normal.
