1 of my 2week old ameraucana pullets kept falling to it's side after taking a couple of steps. The next day i discovered that three more pullets were falling over too have no clue what's wrong anyone help please!

It could be a vitamin E deficiency. You could try giving them Vitamin E with Selenium to help absorb the E. Even some liquid vitamins in the water might help. If that doesn't help that you might be looking at Mareks disease. Try the vitamin thing first and see if this doesn't fix them up. Vit E has a lot to do with balance and coordination. I noticed that when my hens were chicks, they would always be running around then suddenly stop and tip forward. They were just sleeping. Babies need to nap a lot, perhaps that's what's happening with your chick. Maybe she just falls to the side instead of forward.
 
How do you test for Mareks? Will my vet know what I'm talking about when I ask? My young chikens are doing the same thing and stumbling around like they are drunk.. the vet has seen them 3 seperate times and has now provided 3 seperate medicines after discovering Giardia in their stool.. it's been suggested that due to their symptoms this is only ONE problem with them.. until I read this post I thought only my chickens were walking funny..

If it is a vitamin issue it shouldn't take more than a week to see some improvements. I have a female quail that had tremors, balance issues and neurological problems for months before I figured out that vitamins ease these conditions. She had cocci really bad in the brooder and took a long time to recover. But as long as she gets her vitamins 3 times a week, she does just fine.

I hope this works for you. Let me know if it does work on your chicks as I am curious about how vitamins do affect this coordination troubles and it will help me work with my quail also. Thanks.

Any foods that are high in vit E would be great to feed. You don't want to feed them too much that they don't eat their regular feed as that will cause them to lack in other vitamins. So vitamins in the water are always best. But you can up the E by feeding high E foods along with vitamins. Nothing will hurt at this point.

If they don't improve after one week, it may to due to something else, however if they haven't become deathly ill and are still able to eat and drink I would still suspect a vitamin or mineral issue.
