We just found round worms in some chicken feces in the coop. We have two coops that are cleaned twice a day. 44 chickens share the coops. The chickens also free range. Ages from 6 months to two years. We feed DE daily and ACV in water. I have been searching all day for a safe wormer to use that will be safe for egg layers not meat birds. Called the mfg. of Wazine and even that product is not labeled for egg layers. The mfg. said we could do a 17 day period before eating the eggs but the product is not FDA approved for this. Wondering what if anything others have used. Flubenvet? Safeguard? Any suggestions? The DE clearly does not work. We are very disappointed as we have tried our best to stay away from chemicals. Thank you for any help.

Unfortunately you had to learn the hard way that DE does not prevent nor kill worms. There's a 14 day slaughter withdrawal period with wazine as stated on the bottle. If the bird is good to eat after the 14th day, so are the eggs.
There are 2 wormers that havnt a withdrawal period; flubenvet and eprinex. Flubenvet is mixed in feed for a period of days. Eprinex is a pour on, administered on bare skin on the back of the chickens neck. Dosage is 1/2cc for standards, 1/4cc for smaller birds. Eprinex will not kill cecal or tapeworms, there has been resistance to large roundworms in chickens. You'll need to repeat dosing in 10 days with the eprinex if you decide to use it.
