Okay I will really try to get pictures for you so keep posted and I will try to upload them soon.Bantams are pretty much like regular chicken eggs and take 21 days. I did set some Serama eggs yesterday and I read they can be anywhere between 19 and 21 days. Same humidity...same everything else....

Couple days ago I went down to check on my chickens. I'd moved one of the Momma's w/week old babies back into the chicken yard. One of her babies was missing. Neighbor kid came over and I asked him if he'd seen my chick. Said NO. Then a few minutes later he said his Grandma sent him over to borrow some chick food for for the "chick" they found in their yard. "Is it my chick"? No, I found it in my yard.(his yard is a good 5min walk away) "Could you bring it over so I can see it"? MY BABY CHICK!!! Mom & Grandma had no idea what was going on and hadn't sent him for baby food either! He is now Persona Non Grata at our place!
I had 13 duck eggs given to me to hatch last fall. 7 of them hatched. Still have 2. Gave most of them away and Fox got my single drake. I have 2 hovabator. One with auto thermostat. When I started this hatch I put my digital thermostat in there and my auto thermostat was about 5 degrees off so now I just set it at the proper temp. I know my digital is correct because I have hatched two sets out using that. I guess you just cant trust factory settings on them.
It's a 9yr old w/problems. They have chickens of their own, he just wanted a baby chick to be his. Right now he's banned from our property by us and his family. I'm glad I got the chick back when I did. It was only gone for an hour or so but was listless when I got it back. Was happy to see Momma and is doing fine.So this kid just walks over to your yard and snatched a chick????? That is awful. I just did not realize people would steal chickens. I don't think I have to worry about our neighbor stealing any chickens.....maybe killing the chickensNo matter how hard I try there always seems to be an escaped chicken over in their yard! They go over there because the grass is tall and they love to peck around.....then there are the leaves all over the ground in the fall/winter/spring....yummy bugs. Then the tall grass gets mowed and it is irresistable! Pesky chickens....pesky grass, LOL.
