My favorite chicken, Ebony, a Silkie D'uccle cross, just laid her first egg!!
She is 27 weeks and we have been waiting, and waiting, and waiting. Her comb has been large and red for weeks now.
Earlier this day, around 2, she began going "Bok bok bok BAWWWK bok bok BAWWWWK!!" over and over again. She was very noisy.
A few minutes ago I got home and went to check on her and there was a perfect little tan egg in the nest box! I was so excited!! I did a happy dance! We have been waiting for so long and I was overjoyed!
