Ok I've had my hovabator running all day and the digital thermometer is read at 96-97 degrees. But the lil glass thermometer with the red line is reading 100-101! Which one is right? :idunno! And the humidity is staying between 52-55% is this okay?

Where are you thermometers? Next to eachother or one on eggs and one on floor of tray?

I place my digital gauge on the side of the egg turner about level with center of eggs. I have a hovabator with a fan.

The first 18 days humidity should be 25-35%. The last 3 days it should range from 55-65%.

Temp should range from 98 - 100* at all times.

Depending on where you place your gauges, the temp and humidity may vary slightly.

They are up near heating element Will be tad warmer a degree or two..can you lay them on sides of turners?

Ok, I've got the glass thermometer(101) in the middle of the egg turner and the digi thermometer(93.4) on the side of the of bator!

usually the glass thermometer is wrong.. I have 3 glass ones and all 3 do not match my digital. The worst glass one is off by 4-r degrees.

If you do not have a fan in your bator, that could also explain the temp difference. If you do have a fan, one of the thermometers is wrong.
You could also be losing heat due to a bad seal in the top part of your bator. If you have a little giant, you may need to add a weather striping seal to the lip of the bottom or top.

I have a hovabator 1620 gqf still air. Should I just take the glass thremometer out and trust the digital one? Ugh so confusing! If I had the $ I'd go buy a different hygrometer/thermometer!

The best hatch I had this year was using the glass therm. that came with my LGiant bator. But then I broke it so had to find a replacement. I also bought another glass but it doesn't seem to be that accurate. I have also bought some digital one piece one and two piece ones. I too jsut count find anything I trust. Then I went into my cooking utinsel draw and got my 9.99 digital one from Accur-rite that I bought at Wal-Marts. That one seems to be right on. I re-tested it at boiling water and found it to go up and down within .2 of a degree. So thats what I use for the most accurate temp reading.
