Hi, I have been interested in taxedermy and I have a squirrel mounting kit. I have the squirrel in the freezer. I am a little confused on how to do the tail, and the toes/toenails. It says to cut off the toes but I think that seems kinda dumb. Any advice. It is a big gray squirrel

There is a taxidermy forum. I think it's called Taxidermy Net. It's very helpful.

Good luck!

We are getting ready to tan a deer skin. If you are talking about skinning the squirrel you just make a cut around each shoulder then skin the squirrel. Sorry I couldn't be more help this is the first I have been tanning skins.

I am going with the cut vertically down the chest/abdomen, then Y-ing off of that into the ar,s/shoulder. Once the skin is of the body you need to cut off the nose (to place an artificial. Then pull the remaining fur off the head. cut if need be. On the legs, you have to cut near the vent and such. (don't follow that chickenboy8 because that is for squirrels and not in perfect detail)
