It was around 9:00 in the morning when my family and I went to Tractor Supply, looking for some bantams to add to our flock. When we got there, the truck containing them had not yet arrived. We waited around fifteen minutes before the truck came.

The sales lady told us that the young chicks had been left in the truck with no heat, food, or water for over 24 hours. As she opened the small box, we all saw a dreary sight..... two dead chicks. She gently lifted the live chicks out one at a time, until they were all out. One of them looked dead, but she saw it was breathing. She lifted it up to the heat lamp to warm it up.

After she did that to most of the chicks, we started to pick the ones that looked like they would live, so we could take them home. One of them caught my eye, a little chick that was running giddily around the pen, swimming in the water dish. It looked exactly like a chipmunk! We all comented about how it was so perky.
We picked out a cute, tan silkie (Which was what we originaly wanted) A black/tan cochin, a pretty brown cochin, a black/yellow cochin, a black and white cochin that looked just like a penguin, and the chipmunk. (Of course)
Once we got them home, we put them in our brooder and heated them up.
When we were pretty sure they were going to be alright, we started to name them. And they became:

Lucky (The Silkie)

Penguin (Gwin) (Cochin)

Holly (Cochin?)

Lucy (Cochin)

Hershey Kisses (a.k.a Hershey) (Cochin)

Chipmunk (I STILL don't know what breed this baby is, maybe an EE)

The little family a half hour after we got them

I loved them all instantly, so it was horrible when Holly got very sick. We gave her as much water as we could get down her, and tried to get her to eat. A few hours later we realized the food was to large for any of them to eat, so we mashed it with our blender. When we put it in they're pen, they all ran to it and started to eat. We tried to give some to Holly, but she wouldn't eat it. The next day, Holly died. R.I.P Holly

Soon all of my babies grew up, and we had to give away our roosters:

Penguin

Lucky

And Lucy (Well, Lucifer now xD)

I also had to give away a few Buff Orpingtons, but we're talking about the bantys. I'll miss them alot, but I know they went to an amazing home where they'll have a lot of hens to hang out with and lots of grass to eat.
So now we only have:

Chipmunk

And Hershey Kisses

I love them very much, they are amazing birds. They both have amazing feather patterns and personalitys.

I didn't expect chipmunk to look like that either, her feather design is almost the same as Hershey's.
