I was feeding my chickens as usual, when I noticed a particularly bloody poop.

I took a closer look and found about 3 small white worms in it. I found a feather and picked it up to take a picture.

Does anyone know what type of worm this is or what I can do to get rid of them?? Please help!

It's a large roundworm. I recommend dosing all your birds with valbazen liquid cattle/sheep wormer. If it's not at your feed store, it can be ordered from Jefferslivestock.com or call them.
Use a syringe without a needle to orally administer it undiluted. Dosage is 1/2cc for standard size, 1/4cc for smaller birds. Redose them again in 10 days. There's a 24 day egg withdrawal period from start to finish.

I discovered my flock has round worms on Saturday. Another "chicken acquaintance" told me to go to the feed store and they would recommend the best product for the worms. Being a novice, I purchased Wazine, brought it home, and added it to their water. THEN, I sat down and read the entire label. Will I never be able to use the eggs my hens lay here after? Does Wazine effect the eggs and the meat permanently? Yes, they are pets, but one of my hens just hatched six baby chicks. What about these chicks. Mom and babies have been drinking the medicated water too.

I've got the same problem except my chickens worms look more like rice. One tx of wazine 2 weeks ago did nothing. Worms still there

When it looks like rice in the poo I have read that is tapeworm. Do a search to see if that is what you think it is...you might want to start your own thread too to get more responses.

Wazine only kills large roundworms, not tapeworm.

see these search results too

I have read of an account where it took treating three times to get rid of tapeworms. See link I gave below a couple of posts down. Also never eat the eggs after wormers...many on BYC say to wait a couple of weeks at least after worming.

Most posts on BYC that I have read mention tossing eggs for two weeks after Wazine (you are on your own with this, as it is not approved for egglayers as you have discovered).

Oh I wouldn't let those baby chicks drink it. But if they already have don't worry too much. Wazine is kind of hard on hens.

There are lots of threads on wazine here on BYC you can look up in the search bar too.

In order to break the life cycle you need to worm them again (see the bottle- it will tell you).

Wazine is approved for poultry (like broilers) but not egglayers. So you can look up the withdrawal time for the meat on internet...sorry I don't know what it is off the top of my head. If they have another kind of worms also, other than large roundworms, Wazine won't kill those.
