I haven't taken many updated photos but I hatched all last year into fall. I have some nice juvies growing up but the more I show off my birds the more people will hound me to buy stuff I don't want to sell so I am now just not showing much of anything until I have something to sell. A lot less headaches that way.
I will try to take some photos in another 2 months when pens are set up.

I know this thread is super old but hoping someone is still subscribing lol. I LOVE barred birds and the pics that are still on here are beautiful.
I have a young barred cochin cockerel (5 1/2 months). I'm not sure if he's a great example of breed or not. He has very full feathered legs and feet, good solid body, no split breast and I'm unsure if his head/comb are good. He does have a few part black feathers in his tail which I know are not desirable. He is a pet and here to stay as my only large fowl rooster.
I have 2 blue cochin pullets and 1 black and really want to get a couple of buff cochin pullets. What would he produce over buff girls? After reading this thread I realize that it would be best to have a buff rooster over barred hens to get close to colouring that I'm seeing here but that's not going to happen. Heres a few pics of my existing birds. Would welcome any comments TIA!

Very nice boy Amy! Is anyone here still working with Buff Barred and have a pair for sale possibly? I'm rebuilding my flock. All I have is one LF Cochin hen and a small flock of Mottled out of Jamie Matts line. Pm me if you have anything. Thank you for any help

I have one boy left but all the pullets were sold with other boys. The three breeding pens I have are starting to lay but there are deposits on the first few dozen they lay. I won't hatch many from them this year as I am still concentrating on the reds and will hatch from my Frizzle pens and a new Mille Fleur pen.

Thanks for replying Amy. If you have a pair at some point you can sell can you let me know? I've been searching high and low locally for MFs and Buff Barred but I can't contact anyone who I've sold birds to in the past about purchasing off spring or possibly my old cochins

It would be summer before I would have any available and I don't ship in the summer. Contact me in Sept to see if I have any left to sell. Most folks will contact me in the summer for some, place a deposit on what they want and when it cools down enough I collect the rest of the payment and ship. I don't keep lists because they get very long and I can't take the time to contact everyone again.
